About UsTony's Custom Golf was formed as a custom golf club and repair enterprise that caters to golfers in the tri-state area (NY, NJ,CT). We are a full service shop and are GCA Accredited (Copy of Press Release). We have been building custom golf clubs and performing repairs since 1997. We also build clubs and perform repair services for a local golf club near our shop. We bring over 25 years of playing experience, along with occasional golf instruction. And yes, we do play custom clubs also. See our clubmakers current set makeup here! Why is TCG different Most internet golf clubmakers perform similar work as we do, but if you notice on their sites they are not really offering custom services. Yes, you can pick the clubs and grips of your choice, but they also leave it to you to pick the shaft length, the shaft flex, and even the grip size. To us, this does not fulfill the promise of a custom fitted club. The shaft is the most important part of the golf club, and to leave it to the customer to select, is not utilizing the clubmakers knowledge to his fullest potential. Granted, there are some very knowledgeable customers out there, and ones that already know what they want and need; and might have been previously fitted. Those customers can select what they like here too, but through our site, and by filling out our fitting form honestly and as completely as possible, we can get the correct club in your hands. Our theory is that there are two reasons for a golf game that is not up to "par".....first is that the golfer is not playing with properly fitted equipment, and second, there are technical flaws within the golfers swing. We can eliminate the first problem, and a few good lessons from a qualified professional can help eliminate the swing flaws. Remember, custom clubs are not a panacea. TCG is also different with regards to quality and pricing. In terms of quality, we only use components from reputable vendors, vendors we've been dealing with since inception. Whether assembling one club or a full set, care is taken in each step in order to produce a finished product that not only fits you right, but is pleasing to look at. Nothing leaves the shop unless it meets our stringent inspection. You will never see excess epoxy, ferrules not shined, and the clubs not cleaned after the assembly process. Care is taken in packing so as not to harm the clubs when shipped to you. As for pricing, most clubmaker sites offer a limited number of heads, shafts, and grips. At TCG, inventory is kept very low, and this benefits you in two ways. First, we are not forced to sell you certain components because they are the ones in inventory, so therefore, we can offer you a wider selection than most clubmakers; and second, we can keep prices low because we do not have to maintain that high inventory, and the costs associated with it. So each component we order is fresh from our vendors. Questions? Please read the FAQ section before anything else. It will give you a good idea on how to get started in getting a properly fit club or clubs in your hands. You also can always contact us at our Contact Us page. This is by far the most efficient way to have questions answered. |
